Issue Position

No more thoughts and prayers. No more massacres at schools, churches, movie theatres, nightclubs, concerts or anywhere else. It is time for action. I am sick of listening to our Republican leaders parrot the NRA's false choice between protecting the 2nd amendment and protecting our children. We can do both. We HAVE to do both. The gun violence epidemic is a complicated issue that will take a multi faceted approach to begin to fix. I will advocate for funding for mental health care, for our school systems to implement the Sandy Hook Promise program to help students and teachers learn to be aware of potential warning signs in troubled kids, and to reform our gun laws to keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them and to keep weapons of war out of the hands of everyone.
